She has been playing a newlywed for the past three years on her hit TV series “The Ghost Whisperer” and now Jennifer Love Hewitt will be preparing to walk down the aisle in real life.

The 28-year-old brunette and former “Party of Five” star will marry her boyfriend of two years, 32-year-old Scottish actor Ross McCall, know for his role as Cpl. Joseph Leibgott in the HBO series “Band of Brothers.”

Hewitt’s representative broke the news exclusively to Us Magazine saying that the couple got engaged last week while vacationing in Hawaii. That’s probably where some unflattering shots of Hewitt frolicking in the surf were snapped and later published on SplashNewsOnline.com. The scandalous website posted a series of photos poking fun at Hewitt’s chunky bottom and thighs as the black bikini-wearing beauty played in the waves kissing her beau.

Jennifer Love Hewitt met Ross McCall when he put in a guest appearance on “The Ghost Whisperer” last year. Hewitt told People magazine, “It’s the first time I’ve ever been in a relationship where you don’t have to try. And I think that’s the answer. That’s when you know that you’re in something really good and healthy and right.”

The engagement ring that Jennifer is wearing is said to be an heirloom that has been in her finance’s family for over a century. Jennifer Love Hewitt has been previously involved with singer/songwriter John Mayer, talking head Carson Daly and former boy bander Rich Cronin.
